Morning 8-2-10

Guy is still on the 8th floor at Cox South. I have not seen the doctor yet today, but the nurse has told me a couple of things that need to happen before we can leave for Mt. Vernon Rehab Center. Guy is still on an insulin drip. This was started because he was on a steriod to help the injured lung which messed with his sugar levels. He is also still on a feeding tube. The nurse said that we will talk to the doctor about both when theymake rounds today. But for now we are holding...

Guy is very impulsive, wants what he wants...when he wants it. He wants to make phone calls and send emails. If you hear from him, know that he is not firing on all cylinders yet and probably will not remember calling you or what was said. He possibly will talk and not make sense at all. I have been told that when you talk tohim answer his questions and be truthful with what you tell him. So I ask that if he contacts you, for you to do the same. Thanks, doing my best to prepare people and to protect him.

Prayer for Guy
God's will be done

  3. Vicki,
We just got back from a 10 day trip through TX. I have been encouraged as I have kept up with the blog of Guy's progress. You have been in our prayers every day and will continue to be. As we drove through Mt. Vernon last night, I said prayers for healing and therapy that will take place there. Love you guys so much and thank God for the strength and wisdom He is giving you. Blessings,
    Rachel Sawyer

  4. Vicki,
As I've read your story, I've been reminded many times of one of my co-workers at my school in Kansas City...her dad had a serious fourwheeler accident earlier in the summer. Although I know there are differences in the stories, it is definitely encouraging to hear how God has worked in their story as well. If you're interested in reading...it's http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jimlawley/mystory
Keep hanging in there with God...

  5. Vicki,
    Just to encourage you...
A church friend of ours in KC was a patient at Mt. Vernon after a life-threatening accident and they were great with him. That was around 8 years ago. We know Guy will be successful in his recovery - so many prayers go with you both! God bless your family.
    Love,

  6. Vicki,
It was really nice to see you the other day. You have been through so much yet managed to look beautiful! Sam got the call from Guy. Not much was said but Sam said it was awesome to hear Guy's voice. We keep you in our prayers. Many people still ask for an update on Guy. I check the blog often, I just don't comment always---just know you are on my mind and heart throughout each day.
